Wet Tail was born in China, where tradition meets the present. We reimagine the qipao, the timeless silhouette of Chinese womenswear, for the way women dress today: softer fabrics, reversible and convertible designs, and prints drawn from gardens, orchids and water.

Each piece is named like a small poem and made to move with you, with stretch fabrics that fit beyond a single size. We design in-house and currently ship duty-paid to the EU, Canada and the United States, with more destinations opening soon.

Heritage, reimagined

The qipao has always been more than a dress. It is a posture, a history, a way of carrying yourself. At Wet Tail, we honour that history. Our silhouettes borrow the collar, the drape, the quiet confidence of the original. Then we add gleam, stretch, reversible prints, and a fit that moves with real bodies. Heritage worn for today.

Made to fit, not to limit

We use soft, stretchy mesh fabrics that give where you need them. Many of our pieces are reversible: two prints, one garment, four outfits. Our sets are designed to be worn together or apart. The result is a wardrobe that does more with less, and fits more women without compromise.

Where we make it

We design in Guangzhou, in the Guangdong province of China, working closely with the artisans who bring our florals to life. Every lily, iris and orchid is crafted with the same attention that has defined Chinese textile tradition for centuries. We are proud of where our clothes come from.
